Sanju Samson came into reckoning with his gritty knocks for Rajasthan Royals in his debut season for the franchise. The wicketkeeper-batsman from Kerala was groomed by Rahul Dravid into a tough campaigner. Sanju made his T20I debut in 2015, but has played four T20Is in the India jersey. He followed his mentor into the Delhi Daredevils squad in 2016 and played some crucial innings for the team during his two seasons with them before moving back to Rajasthan Royals.

Sanju scored 340+ runs in IPL 2019 with the help of a hundred and will hope to score heavily in the IPL 2020.

The New Zealand-born England cricketer, Ben Stokes, is one of the finest allrounders of the modern-day game. A destructive batsman and an effective fast-bowler, Stokes has remained at the forefront of some of England’s recent triumphs – World Cup 2019 win, a thrilling Ashes ton at Headingley – to name a few.

Stokes made waves in his first season of the IPL when he was bought by the Rising Pune Supergiant at a record price of INR 14.5 cr. An aggressive cricketer, he smashed an unbeaten 103 in his first season and returned with a best of 3/18 during his 12 matches for the former franchise in IPL 2017. Stokes has the ability to take on the bowlers from the word go and can test batsmen with his disciplined bowling; he is the X factor that most teams yearn for. While Stokes, by his own high standards, did not enjoy much success in the last two IPL seasons, he will be eager to set the record straight during the IPL 2020.

His 38-ball hundred against RCB in his in 2013 is still remembered by the IPL fans. The left-handed batsman has grown to become South Africa’s middle order mainstay and will be an important member for RR. While he has moved from KXIP to RR, expect Miller to unleash himself in IPL 2020 as RR look to win their second IPL title.

Jaydev Unadkat will be coming into IPL 2020 on the back of an impressive season in domestic cricket, where he led Saurashtra to their maiden Ranji Trophy title and ended the tournament with as many as 67 wickets against his name.

While Rajasthan Royals had released Unadkat after the last IPL season, they bought him back at the auction for INR 3 crores.

The 2017 IPL season was one of the best for Jaydev Unadkat, who claimed 24 wickets from 12 matches for the Rising Pune Supergiant. With 11 wickets in 15 games in IPL 2018, Unadkat was probably bogged down by the expectation of a high salary he received at the IPL Player Auction 2018. However, after being released initially, RR bought him back for INR 8.4 crore at the auction prior to the 2019 season, showing faith in his ability. IPL 2020 will be Unadkat’s third season with the Rajasthan Royals and he would be keen to perform and justify the team’s faith in him.

A complete package, Jofra Archer was one of the most exciting picks in the IPL Player Auction 2018, fetching a cool INR 7.20 crore. He can whack the ball clean and hard, and when he puts on the bowling shoes, he can clock speeds in excess of 150 kph. He brings in the Caribbean flavour and his wicket celebrations have also made him very popular.

While he did not get to do much with the bat in his maiden season, Archer impressed with the ball. He has varieties up his sleeve and can bowl the slower ball and the yorker.

Since his last two IPL stints, a lot has changed for the speedster. He has won the World Cup 2019 with England, bowling the Super Over of what was a thrilling final against New Zealand. A few days later, Archer also made his Test debut last year during the Ashes. Rajasthan Royals, as one would have expected, chose to retain the pacer for IPL 2020.

He was bought by the Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) ahead of the ninth season of the IPL before moving to Rajasthan Royals. While he featured only in only two games in IPL 2019, Rajasthan Royals retained the youngster for the IPL 2020.

In IPL 2017, he struck his career-best 95 playing against SRH. Mayank Markande was traded twice in the same IPL transfer window as he made his way to Rajasthan Royals from Mumbai Indians via Delhi Capitals. The leg-spinner made his IPL debut in 2018 and was one of the biggest positives for MI, picking 15 wickets in his maiden season.

He was fearless while bowling to some of the best and most aggressive hitters in world cricket. In his second IPL match, he picked four wickets and became the third-youngest to do so. The moment was even more special as he became the Purple Cap holder just after two games and received it from Shikhar Dhawan.

While he could only feature in just three games in IPL 2019, the youngster, now playing for RR, will be keen to have a big impact in the IPL 2020, which will be played in the UAE.
